"It's All Mathematics"
Review important math concepts for the SAT with this song and video. First we rhyme about shapes, from polygons to decagons. Then get ready to describe mathematical relationships with important terms like congruent, equidistant, perpendicular and adjacent. You'll never forget the difference between radius and diameter after you listen to these lyrics. How about the formulas for perimeter and area? Learn them with a rhyme and get ready to tap your feet to the beat while you take the SAT.

It’s all mathematics. We add like addicts.
We subtract like taxes, we multiply like rabbits.
We divide like axes. It’s all mathematics
Now a Polygon is a shape, with a bunch of sides
You can’t make a polygon out of just two lines.
If you got sides of the same length, then you know it’s on,
What you’re dealing with there is a Regular Polygon.
Triangle three sides, three sides to every story in a love triangle,
I’d suggest you don’t tangle.
Quadrilateral has four sides, the stage might have four sides,
It’s proof that the stage show’s live.
Pentagon has five sides, my eyes staring at the Pentacle,
The five-pointed star inside.
Now it’s a sextet standing in Hexagon formation,
Six people, six sides, mix stays live.
Heptagon is the one that everyone forgets,
Seven sides, seven sins, so don’t ever forget,
Ruled by the Heptarchy, the seven-person government,
The fun of it is that I joined so now eight people running it.
Octagon with eight sides, octopus with eight tentacles,
Octane gas has eight molecules.
Nona means nine, Strega Nona dressed to the nines.
The Nonagon’s a polygon with nine sides.
Decimate comes from killing one in every ten.
Now it means to destroy or kill all of them.
A Decagon has ten sides, Decimal’s a tenth-part,
Decimeter ten yards, listen now the hook’s gonna start . . .
It’s all mathematics. We add like addicts.
We subtract like taxes, we multiply like rabbits.
We divide like axes. It’s all mathematics
Congruent is equal, like the congregation under the steeple,
‘Cause no matter your religion all people are equal.
Equidistant is equally distant, equally close,
The Pacific is Adjacent to the West Coast.
Perpendicular is two lines that form ninety degrees,
So they look like Xs, crossbones, and Ts.
Parallel is two lines that will not cross,
No matter how far they travel across the universe.
A Plane is 2-D, flatter than sheets and definitely,
When I say 2-D I mean flatter than concrete.
Painting pictures, on this geometric journey, I’m your mentor.
In a Circle every point is equidistant from the center.
So if we both eat the same donut at the same time,
And you start on your side and I start on mine,
We’ll each eat through the Radius,
To the center where we get a Lady and Tramp kiss.
The distance from one side, through the middle to the other side
Is the Diameter, so never say die.
Perimeter, distance around a circle is 2 pi R.
Area is pi R squared,
How much space is in there, do you care?
Well I sure hope you do,
Or I’ll be eating pancakes, and you’ll be eating Froot-Loops.
It’s all mathematics. We add like addicts.
We subtract like taxes, we multiply like rabbits.
We divide like axes. It’s all mathematics
