Dr. Roger Farr, former president of the International Reading Association, conducted a study in 2008 and 2009 which determined that The Word Up Project, Flocabulary's multisensory vocabulary program, raised state test scores for middle school students. Before analyzing state test data, Dr. Farr's study aimed to prove the The Word Up Project's efficacy at increasing vocabulary knowledge and reading skills. In a sample of 600 students, the study showed a dramatic increase in vocabulary proficiency, with the largest gains coming from students of a lower socioeconomic status.
