Professional Development

Hip-Hop in the Classroom: Engagement Strategies for the 21st Century Student
The Flocabulary team has worked extensively with teachers on ways of incorporating hip-hop into their classrooms, the importance of culturally relevant teaching methods, and teaching techniques for increasing student engagement. We even get your teachers writing rhymes and performing. Book Flocabulary for your district's next in-service or professional development session!

Student Workshops with Flocabulary Artists

Intro to Flocabulary
Flocabulary artists will introduce the concept of learning through hip-hop and then perform several songs. This session is an ideal way to introduce your students to Flocabulary after a purchase or adoption.

The Flocabulary Writing Workshop
This session gets students writing their own academic raps. After demonstrating that poets and rappers use the same literary techniques, we lead the students in an interactive writing and performance workshop.

"During the Flocab performance, our kids even got to write a few lines of their own. It was an exciting event - fun, entertaining, and wildly informative. We look forward to having Flocab back again next year."

- Ayele Shakur, Executive Director, Boston Learning Center
